Add External ID to Company, Location or Asset

You can use the External ID (any alphanumeric combo) to add an ID to any Company, Location or Asset (Gateways, Sensors). Some of our partners use this optional field to help tie assets together when using multiple systems. In addition to being visible from the dashboard UI, the External ID information will also come across with Integration data.
Add External ID to Company or Location
External ID can be assigned to Companies or Locations (independently) during creation. Simply add whatever id you want (any alphanumeric combo) to the External ID field.
You can edit existing Companies or Locations to add or update this information as well. Go to Companies & Locations and open the Company or Location for editing.
Add External ID to Gateways, Sensors
External ID can be assigned to hardware assets during the Add Device / Add Gateway process. To add an ID, expand the Hide Advanced Options and enter the id (any alphanumeric combo) into the External ID field.
You can add or update the ID for existing hardware assets as well - select the device and go to the Device Settings screen. The External ID field will be shown there as well.
