Example: Using GoDaddy and Cloudflare
The following will walk you through how to configure a custom domain using Cloudflare. Throughout the example we will use GoDaddy as an example hosting partner for the subdomain we want to use to access our App.
GoDaddy does not support CDN or Reverse Proxy services that we need to successfully configure our white label app for use with myDevices. To solve this, we will continue to use GoDaddy as our domain provider (so we will continue to be billed from GoDaddy as normal for our domain), but we will switch our DNS services over to a free Cloudflare account.
By using Cloudflare, we get a simple way of quickly configuring what we need so that our white label app works, including SSL support and we can continue to use GoDaddy as our hosting partner.
What do you need to begin?
Your GoDaddy login for the custom domain you want to use. Your custom domain should already exist in GoDaddy so that it is ready for us to configure for use now.
A Cloudflare account to be used to manage DNS and proxy services for your domain going forwards. If you do not already have a Cloudflare account, you can create one for free.
Important:Â Be sure to follow the instructions shown for Cloudflare carefully so as to prevent any downtime if your domain is currently being used by customers.
