Panic Button Solution FAQs

How do I troubleshoot or check the status of my solution?

  • Customers are advised on a quarterly or yearly basis to test their solution by running a Panic Button drill for every room. Customers should activate an emergency button (double press to activate) and stand in/walk by every room to ensure the button picks up the beacon installed for that room. If the beacon for that room is not reported, the beacon may have been removed or the battery is dead - reinstall any removed beacon or replace any dead battery.

Do the coverage areas outlined in the contract meet the standard that requires accurate room-level location in all guest rooms, housekeeping/service closets on guest floors, elevator landings, spa treatment rooms, etc.?

  • The solution will provide room-level accuracy for any room the beacon is installed. Rooms include guest rooms, housekeeping/service closets, elevator landings, spa treatment rooms, fitness rooms, etc. If a beacon is not installed in a room we cannot guarantee room-level accuracy.

Does the coverage guarantee location proximity to room level (not floor above or floor below)? Many vendors fall short executing room level accuracy.

  • The solution will provide floor level accuracy when devices are deployed above and below the current floor. For example, if devices are deployed on floors 2-10 then the 1st floor accuracy is not guaranteed. The solution must be deployed on all floors.

Does the solution provide failover or alternative connection solutions?

Does the solution send proactive notifications to ensure all and any of the system components are operating properly?

  • Alerts can be created for emergency, battery, offline, and signal strength via SMS and Email notifications.

Does the solution run off batteries or POE?

Does the solution eliminates false alarms compared to single push design?
