Add hardware to your own Chirpstack Instance
The following will help you understand how you can directly upload and manage your hardware on our Azure Chirpstack LNS. This is a service we provide for our paid partners who need direct access to Chirpstack so that they can directly manage their own hardware.
What does direct access to Chirpstack provide?
After getting access to the Chirpstack console you can directly manage and troubleshoot your Hardware without having to contact myDevices.
Directly upload your own hardware to Chirpstack without contacting myDevices.
Remove / change existing hardware configuration settings for hardware.
Troubleshoot device problems by examining live data, traffic history and connection status information.
How do I get direct access to Chirpstack?
Please contact us to request access to upload devices. Access to the Chirpstack server requires a paid partner plan and is granted on a case by case basis.
After requesting access will my existing hardware all be visible?
No. Hardware that was added prior to receiving your Chirpstack login will not be visible under your instance. This is done to avoid causing headaches with your existing deployments as moving hardware between instances would require manually rejoining each sensor to the network. New deployments using your Chirpstack instance will of course show up.
How do I upload Devices and Gateways to Chirpstack?
Devices need to be registered in both the IoT Console as well as in the Chirpstack console. This is necessary so that both the dashboard app and the network server recognize the hardware. For all the hardware sold and shipped my myDevices we do this for you, however if you want to bring your own hardware these steps are necessary.
Please see the following guides and videos which walk you through the process of uploading your hardware.
For Devices: Upload devices to your own Chirpstack instance
For Gateways: Upload gateways to your own Chirpstack Instance
Coming soon: We are working on giving our partners the ability to batch add hardware into both the Device Registry and into Chirpstack from a single step in the IoT Console Upload wizard! Stay tuned.
